I never considered myself a kitchen gadget addict until I decided to go through my cabinets.  I was very surprised how many kitchen gadgets I had acquired over the years.

To some, my collection would be considered an extreme amount of things to squeeze, shave, slice-n-dice, plump up, hammer flat.  I was just trying to be prepared.

I can easily justify why I have each piece, except the ones I do not recognize. Hey,cooking styles have changed considerably over the years and each era had it's set of gadgets.  Unfortunately I went through many era's whilst gathering my collection.

Heaven forbid a style comes back, or one of your kids ask you to make one their childhood favorites.  You will no doubt need that one gizmo to make it successfully.

Somewhere along my thoughts of these Supreme Court worthy justifications, reality set in and I started to remember when was the last time I used each one. The fear of meal failure can be agonizing.

While the rat pack side of my brain was trying to justify keeping everything.  The logic is; I would have used it more if I knew where it was.  I wonder how many time I used each one, if at all.

Bottom line I have taken a large pile of gadgets and gizmo's out of the kitchen drawers and cabinets and now have more room to organize what remains.  Pots and pans are next.

I will get back to sorting when I get done selling my gadget collection on e-bay.  I am a little worried however, there are allot of gadgets on e-bay I have always wanted to try, if I could get one.  Hum!
